Gary Ramage is one of Australia’s leading photojournalists, with over 34 years of experience in the media industry. He
is one of Australia’s most experienced conflict photographers, having covered conflicts worldwide, including Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Philippines, and more recently, Ukraine.

He is a triple Walkley Award winner, an Australian Army veteran, and a former Official War Photographer for the Australian War Memorial.

His photographs are held in collections including those of the Australian War Memorial, the National Library of Australia, Parliament House of Australia and in private collections. Unlike many journalists and photographers who covered the conflict intermittently, Gary Ramage repeatedly returned to the operational theatre during his personal time, undertaking considerable personal risk to record the realities of combat, the character of Australian servicemen and women, and the defining moments of Australia's military engagement in Afghanistan.
